Autism
Autism is a developmental disorder with varying degrees of severity. Typically, it appears during the first three years of life and is characterized by difficulties in social interaction, communication and accompanied by repetitive and obsessive behavior.
It is generally believed that there is no ‘cure’ for autism, although improvement can be made to the point where all signs of autism disappear.
To a parent of a child with autism, this is good enough.
There is an incredible amount of information on the internet about autism. Some is good, some is terrible. Also, consider starting a Twitter account. There are a lot of great people who post very interesting and helpful articles about Autism and Aspergers. I try to be one of these people, and I also follow some of these people. http://twitter.com/sd_allison
